We finally got to do some camping as a family! Our family and the Johnson crew headed to Salt Fork State Park for the weekend. It poured all Friday evening and night. What an experience - setting up camp in the dark and rain. Come Saturday morning, though, the weekend turned out beautiful!

We got to do an overnight (backpacking) in the Mohican-Memorial State Forest. This was the first time in our marriage that we've been able go backpacking together – just the two of us. Thanks, Mom and Mom, for making it possible!

Bekah is on her first getaway, away from the entire family, since Clarissa was born (roughly four years). She's on a women's Hiking Retreat with the church... a group of thirty or so women mixin' it up in the woods for a weekend. They're boarding at the Inn the Woods Retreat Center and hiking the lower loop of Wildcat Hollow.

We finally visit the Morrow County Fair – the renowed fair where Robert held, with honor, the 1988 Jr. Fair King title.

"Finally!" Bekah says. Our beach vacation comes to pass – and it was a dandy. We spent it in Surf City, NC (Topsail Island) with Tennessee family.

We spent a weekend in Chicago visiting friends and attending Matt Larsen's wedding; and then I headed to Bloomington, IL for a Conference (work-related) while Bekah and the kids stayed in Chicago for the week.

We had a fun day celebrating Robert's birthday. We went to a couple backpacking stores across Ohio (The Outdoor Source & Appalachian Outfitters) for Robert to pick out a new ultralight backpack. He's the new proud owner of the Granite Gear Nimbus Ozone – which will double as Bekah's new pack! (It's not a trick – it fit her well and she loves it.)

We had a great time at the Taylor-Kettenring wedding and exploring the Harpers Ferry area. Here are the festivities in pictures! Lots of family and friends of Michael and Karin were present. (Here are some pictures that Karin uploaded from their Honeymoon.)

We're headed to Michael (Mokey) and Karin's wedding today – in Harpers Ferry, WV. Should be fun!
