29 Dec 2006
Hey all,
Just a note to let you know Charles Elijah Sagar (Charlie) was born at home this morning
(Friday, Dec. 29) at 3:22 a.m. Everything was so peaceful (although fast--the 2-hour labor
blew us away) and we are praising the Lord for a healthy mom and baby!
Charlie was 10 lbs., 1 oz. and 22 inches long (Bekah knew he felt heavy!), and we think
he looks like Clarissa but it's hard to say in his first 24 hours. He's nursing and
sleeping well, and Clarissa seems to like him so far! (After meeting him at 5 a.m. and
then going back to bed again, she woke up saying "Where's Charlie?") We pray she will
feel secure and loved during this time of transition.
Thank you for all your caring and prayers!
Robert, Bekah, Clare & Charlie

This week we visited Bekah's brother and his girlfriend along with Bekah's dad and step-mother in Washington D.C. Her brother had just moved to D.C from Minnisota and her dad was there for a business conference. We hope to have some pictures soon – check our "photos."

Bekah and I are headed to historic Lancaster and Marietta for a fun-filled Labor Day weekend getaway (early 4th Anniversary celebration, Sep 2–3) before the new baby arrives this Christmas.
Friday: Shaw's Restaurant and Inn for dinner and overnight (Lancaster)
Saturday: Wild Mercantile (Athens outfitter, in search of Big Agnes Seedhouse SL2 - none in stock), and then to Mariette for antiques, shops, food, river and overnight.
Sunday: Parkersburg, WV to Blennerhassett Mansion and then Fox Outdoor Exchange (in a guys garage) to test out Big Agnes Seedhouse 2 (not SL, but same 'shape' as SL series), and bought Bekah the Big Agnes Sleep System which includes the Air Core Pad (long) and Crystal 30 (long) sleeping bag.

We just returned from a fun – and very exhausting – trip to Chicago (May 30 – Jun 5). I think Bekah was able to see every single person that she ever had
a relationship with there. And I was finally able to visit the famed Brookfield Zoo! We also spent a lot of time with the blessed Sfura
family, and were able to see them off to Canada for their Summer Project with Campus Crusade. It seems that Chicago has become an annual
destination for our family.

05 May 2006
The last 4 weeks have been a whirlwind of trials – mostly in regard to illness. It started just after Easter with
Bekah and I coming down with a relatively weak flu virus. Bekah was able to fight if off
better than I was; I ended up taking 2 days off work. Soon after, Clarissa ended up with Croup that lasted more
than a week, and the virus worked its way down into her chest this past week. We just came back from the doctor this morning to
find out that it has manifested into an ear infection. In the midst of all of this, Ramsey ended up with a parasite
of some sort, and the vet said that if we hadn't brought him in last Tuesday afternoon, he would have died that
night. He ended up having 3 blood transfusions, and will be on antibiotics for a month. We're hoping and praying that
May will be a month of healing and restoration for the Sagars. (Clarissa did start walking, though – about 3 weeks ago!)

We just adopted two "rescue kitties" from Judy, a women at church with a rescue ministry. They're very
cute, and we can't believe how friendly they are. Here's a couple pictures of Ramsey and Cleo, brother and sister, now
7 months old.

It looks like we'll be getting a couple of kittens tomorrow night. We're pretty excited, and Clarissa
was really excited when we went to pick them out on Saturday. Let's just hope the
kitties are just as excited about her! :)

11–18 Mar 2006
We went on our first extended "family vacation" to visit Bekah's Dad and stepmom in
in McAllen, Texas. We also visited Bekah's grandma, aunts, uncles and cousins - since
there is a whole clan there in Texas. (Clarissa is her grandma's FIRST great grandchild –
we think they hit if off!) We had a great time. Clarissa really loved "the oshey" (shhh...
we know it's the Gulf, but we told her it was "the ocean"), and she did awesome traveling.
Watch for updates when we post some pictures and commentary.

We had an early birthday celebration for Bekah's mom tonight because we'll be out
of town for her actual birthday on the 17th! We're headed to the Lone Star State next week.

03 Mar 2006
Bekah and I got a night out at the Midland Theatre in Newark. We
saw Rhonda Vincent and her band,
The Rage. It was an awesome show, and we're now fans! It was a quality show,
and fun to be in a great theatre housing top notch Bluegrass musicians. We
would recommend purchasing her newest live album,
"Ragin' LIVE".
