our new dining room
photo journal

The dining room before the furniture was put back...repairing the plaster and sanding/prepping was the hardest part! Even the ceiling had wallpaper, so there was plaster to repair there too.

We used a Sherwin Williams "super paint" that Robert was really impressed with. We had them color match a Lowe's color called "Courtyard Shadow," which is a grayish blue as you can see. It looks beautiful, especially in natural light or magically lit for the evening. Notice our newly refinished floor (last November).

We moved the piano into the dining room, and it fits perfectly in that little alcove. Bekah grew up playing (and dusting) it. Bekah and her mom and brother gave Robert the antique victrola for Christmas (in the corner). Clarissa's highchair (foreground) is also an antique and Bekah loves how it looks, but we think we may have to switch to something more functional (the tray doesn't open up, and there are no straps so we use a cloth belt).

It was so nice to move our dishes and everything back in. The living room feels much more open without all of it! The hutch is an antique we bought in Granville. There is also an antique sewing desk in the left front corner that was Bekah's grandmother's. Apparently the theme of the room is antiques!
